Budding Socialists Discover Crouch
I was out standing in the driveway contemplating why so many Mountain Bluebirds were around when some folks driving a Jeep SUV pulled by and stopped. I recognized the driver and passenger as some folks who lived somewhere in the area. They had some sort of campaign sign on the side of their car.
Anyway, this rather copious lady pops out of the back seat, shakes my hand, and gives me a brochure. Another lady, seated to her left, nodded and kinda looked forward. She was a study in "Whatever I'm now doing, I hate it". The two folks I recognized indicated that the lady squeezing the blood out of my hand was their daughter and she was running for some office. My eyes were about to pop out of their sockets due to the blood being displaced out of my hand and I wondering if she'd soon be running for the phone in order to call 911 instead of running for Grand Poobah of Idaho or whatever.
The neophyte candidate finally released my hand and my eyes slammed back into their sockets with a satisfying "thwunk-thwunk" sound. The lady then went on to explain that it was about time somebody from Boise County (Boise is actually in Ada County and Crouch is in Boise County...) was elected to the statehouse. I mumbled something like, "Have you seen my soap mine?" and they were off in a cloud of dust.
I retired to the comfort of the living room and decided to read the brochure. It seemed to be mostly about how we were all not making a "fair wage" and how the lady who foisted the brochure upon me was going to remedy that and ensure that all Idahoans got "affordable" healthcare. I await definitions of the terms "fair" and "affordable".
Apparently these folks deemed me as one who needed "a fair wage". Maybe they've been talking with Stitch. (?)
p.s. As my good deed of the day I pointed out to them the quickest way out of the subdivision and I assured them I would keep the safety on while they used my driveway to reverse course.
